Millions of people have quit their jobs since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
In December of 2021: Employers reported some 10.9 million job openings in a survey from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, well above pre-pandemic averages.
4.3 million people quit or changed jobs in December 2021 — many of those were women.
The reality is: The Great Resignation is making it hard for most employers to find employees. But as women-led organizations, we have a special advantage: We can bring heart (and our experiences) to the hiring table.
Our guest Gretchen Salyer is the founder and the CEO of June Care Company. June Care connects parents who need childcare with qualified hosts, often stay-at-home moms, who can care for their kids. Their mission, “moms supporting moms in their most important work” enables June Care to provide moms with access to childcare, income opportunities, and community. Before founding June Care, Gretchen was a stay-at-home mom for three years after retiring from her job as a tech executive.
In this episode, Gretchen will share her transition from corporate to being a stay-at-home mom and now an entrepreneur. She will also share some of the lessons she has learned along the way and the impact her business is creating.
